ABOUT

I turn 58 in August.  The older I become the more I think about my life's journey and where it has taken me.   Our lives are stories and we are the authors of our own unique stories.  When I look back on mine I can see very clearly things that I wish I had done differently, and better choices I could have made.   I also see clearly some things which have been very good in my life.  There are no re-writes.  We cannot change the past.  We can only control our futures, and even then that is only to a degree . . . a lot depending on outward circumstances . . . things which are beyond our control such as Government, weather, etc.

Good, or bad, our lives are largely controlled by the choices and decisions we make.    As I begin to move more from the Autumn in my life towards the Winter of my life . . . I am keen to make changes . . . to do things and cling to the things which I have learned are most important in life . . . to make what remains of my life the very best it can be.

My father's father passed away when he was only fifty four years of age.  I have already gone past that age.  A dear Aunt of mine, much beloved passed away when she was only sixty four.  I have a few years yet to go before I reach that milestone.

The truth is none of us knows how long we have in this gift which is life.   It's up to us to make the most of whatever time and experiences we are given.  This is my journey towards that end, wherever it may take me and forever how long it may take me.   I hope that minute by minute, day by day, week by week, month by month and year by year, I will become a better ME.   A body can't ask for much more than that.

"We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul-We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things."
